A Surprise Engagement

On Friday, December 15th, I was working away in my office when all of a sudden my then boyfriend, Rob, appeared in the doorway. He was dressed in his amazing suit, holding a beautiful bouquet of pink/white roses (my favorite) along with some mistletoe. I had a blank stare on my face when he said, it is time to go. I couldn't believe it, I told him I had a huge report to do, his reply again was that it was time to go. I walked out of my office, into my boss's office and she was grinning from ear to ear while she said have a great weekend. We proceeded down the stairs and outside sat a black limo. At this point I knew something was up?! Inside the limo was every item of clothing I had ever worn and three packed bags. He told me to change because we were on our way to dinner.

I was still in shock when Rob asked the limo driver to stop by our home for a moment. We stopped at home and then proceeded to dinner. On our way he grabbed a ring box that was wrapped and asked me to open it. I did, and he took it out of my hands before I saw what was inside. He proceeded to get down on one knee and ask me to be his wife. We were both crying and I asked him if he wanted to do this in the restaurant and he said we were both too much of cry babies and we would completely embarrass ourselves! I of course said yes and proceeded to change. I then found out the reason we had to stop back by the house, he had remembered everything except for the ring!

We had dinner at Daniel's Broiler on Lake Washington (which I completely suggest). We weren't in the restaurant for longer than 5 minutes when I blurted to the waitress-"Guess what, we just got engaged!" She was so excited she never stopped smiling the whole evening.

We then proceeded to the Woodmark Hotel where Rob had reserved a suite for us. The hotel room was absolutely gorgeous, right on the water, Jacuzzi tub, I mean everything! We changed clothes quickly and I was able to curl my hair and freshen up. We got back into the limo, the whole time I have no idea what is going to happen next!

We then arrive to a nightclub, The Shark Club, where one of my favorite bands was playing, the Aphrodisiacs. As we rounded the corner in the club, there sat all of our friends and our family. I just started balling into Rob's chest. I could not believe the evening's events. It was truly a night I will never forget!
